It's flea and tick season again here in Maine. Please refrain from applying Frontline to your dog the night before or the morning of a school day at DWD. This puts other dogs at risk of getting these harsh chemicals in their mouths during play and also interferes with proper saturation of the product on your dog, as dogs get wet here at DWD (wading pool) and roll around in the sand, etc. during the day. THANK YOU!

Sunny and hot here at DWD!!
ATTENDANCE: Juicy Boxer/Doberman, Anabelle Sheltie, Cullen Schnauzer, Max Corgi, Lucy Mix, Lucy Doodle, Scout Golden, Gemma Cocker Spaniel, Fred Boston Terrier.

OUR DAY: Since we’re outside for most of the day in the warm weather, you’ll notice the progress reports shortening up for the summer!
The wading pool is out! First one in was Lucy Doodle. That did not surprise me in the least, as she loves it when I squirt her with the water bottle. She, like many Doodles in the past, likes to lie down in the pool and cool off -- especially after digging in the sandbox! I’ve changed out the water twice already! Anabelle has walked around in the pool, as has Freddie. I’m sure they’ll ALL get in this afternoon, as I plan to toss in some apple chunks for encouragement!!
With the hot sun, the pups have really been enjoying the cooler, shady areas of the yard today. The sandbox is in the shade almost all day! The pool is placed on the shady side of the stone patio in the center of the playground. And...we’re ALL inside enjoying the cool fan as I’m typing this report.
Today, we’ve worked on “no bark” a good amount, as the daycare kids have been outside a lot. Lucy D and Lucy M as well as Anabelle and Gemma are alert to sounds and would desperately love to bark when they hear them, so we are working on this.
Scout is making new pals since his best gal, Coco, graduated last week. He likes Gemma and Lucy D today and they have been hanging together for the last hour. Lovely!
It’s good to have our Freddie back! He’s been busy, busy all day long! He rests and then gets his energy back and encourages Cullen (who LOVES him) to chase him around the yard once again!
Speaking of chasing around the yard, Anabelle has worn little Juicy out from a morning of games of chase! Anabelle LOVES it when she can get Juicy to chase her!!
