I'm pleased to be offering a new Puppy Play Hour on Saturdays over at the new Mutty Paws Dog Day Care in South Portland. I'm teaming with the owner, Kris Klinges, to offer a great new experience for new puppy owners. They get to be IN the group WITH the pups and will learn how to interpret play behaviors, supervise their pup's play safely and stop unwanted behaviors. Perfect! And...it's FREE if you need it to be. We will be collecting donations for worthy pet-related causes from week-to-week, but there's no obligation to contribute. Group starts on Saturday 2/4 at 2 p.m.! Directions to DWD
From the Mall area or south, take Broadway through South Portland, following Broadway to it's intersection with Ocean Street.From the north or Portland area, proceed from Forest Avenue through Deering Oaks Park, up State Street and across the Casco Bay Bridge. As you come off the bridge, stay in the righthand lane and follow signs for "Rte 77 / Cape Elizabeth."
Bear RIGHT at the intersection/light where Ocean crosses Broadway, following signs for "Rte 77 / Cape Elizabeth." Rte 77 IS Ocean Street in SoPo. There is a yellow "Pizza Joint" sign on this corner. Follow Ocean Street through the light at its intersection with Highland Avenue. DWD is about 1/4 mile from this light, on your right, #419 Ocean Street. Landmarks to look for: Wild Rose Street on your right, and then a 35 MPH sign. DWD is a white, two-story, hip-roof colonial with attached garage. Signage for the school is located in the garage windows and on the bright yellow door to the school. There is a tall hedge in front of the property. If you see Simmons Street, you have just passed DWD.
For drop-off or pick-up on school days, you may park in the DWD driveway or on Simmons Street. For weekend play groups, please park ONLY in the Casco Bay Montessori School parking lot which is just past DWD on the opposite side of Ocean Street (left) on the corner of Ocean and Parrott Streets. Leash-walk your dog down to DWD from there.
